Welcome to Nashville Youth Athletics Programming
During the fall, NYA offers developmental and competitive cross country. The Developmental season begins in early September and culminates in the Elementary School (grades 3-5) and Middle School (grades 6-8) Regional Championships, held in Nashville. At this meet, athletes have the chance to qualify for the Elementary School and Middle School State Cross Country Championships held in Knoxville every October. During the developmental season, athletes can run for school-based teams or unattached. Coaching is not provided by NYA during the developemtnal seaosn. We also offer post season programming to those who would like to compete at the regional (southeastern US) and national level, after the State meet. The Post Seaosn program is coached by NYA staff. The season is typically six weeks long, with 3-4 meets and practices 2-3 days per week. The NYA competitive team routinely competes at the Foot Locker South Regioanl Championships, the Cross Country Coaches Youth National Championships, and one or two other regional level meets.
